Teacher Guides and Professional Development
As well as being a trade book, each State Chronicle is designed to serve as a text (in digital or book form) for use in the classroom. We will work with the appropriate people in your state to make sure the book aligns with your state history curriculum and cross-curricular state standards.
The book works as a stand-alone, and the newspaper edition can be distributed to students to work with in class and take home to share with their families. However, some states prefer additional teacher support materials.
A teacher’s guide and teacher PD are both available free of charge. There are three options:
We have a provider on board who will be developing a teacher’s guide, and they can also deliver PD. Click here to see an example teacher’s guide.
However, you are not obligated to use these materials. If you prefer, you may create your own materials and PD or adjust existing curriculum or PD materials (adding references to and excerpts from the book free of charge) or hire your regular provider to do so.
You may mix and match, using the teacher’s guide that is being created and developing and delivering your own PD.
So, whether you are looking for a plug-and-play solution or want to develop your own supporting materials is up to you. Just let us know what you prefer, and we will work with you to make it happen.
